for The Advertiser Little Big Book Club free reading pack
for 2008! |
A new script 'See Me Move ' written by Sascha Hutchinson
was recently chosen from over 40 unpublished manuscripts to be
the book in The Advertiser Little Big Book Club free reading
packs for 2008, and will be published in early 2008 by Working
Title Press.
The Advertiser Little Big Book Club is a unique
SA based reading program designed to encourage the enjoyment
of reading as well and as to recognise the value of deveoloping
literacy skills in young children.
The production and distribution of free reading packs for new
parents is encompassed within a broad reaching program to encourage
parents to read to their children as early as possible.
Books published for the free reading packs are aimed
to appeal to children aged 0-12 months.
The Advertiser Little Big Book Club commissions
the work for the reading pack and is supported by the Government
of South Australia through Arts SA, The State Library, through
its Public Library Services and Public Libraries of South Ausralia
with the support of Local Government.
The current free reading pack just released for 2007,
'The Only Me', is by Meredith Harvey and has been illustrated
by Amanda Graham. (pub. Omnibus Books).
To collect your free reading pack, if you have a child
aged between newborn and 12 months, please visit your local library
or child and youth health centre across South Australia.

Come
Out Festival !
Tour
of Yorke Peninsula schools in May 2007

In May 2007 I visited schools
throughout the Yorke Peninsula as part of the youth arts festival
'Come Out' and Allwrite and worked with several hundred children
during this time!
Here are some kids from Kadina
Primary showing some of their Pig Out Pizza's!

For the Allwrite regional program,
a wide range of children'sauthors and illustrators toured and
worked with young people in schools at The Riverland, Murraylands,
Lower Flinders, Eyre Peninsula, Fleurieu Peninsula, Barrossa
Valley, South East, Mid North, Far North and Kangaroo Island.

with Adelaide publisher Working Title Press.
