Parish Groups
Social Committee
The roles of the Social
Committee in fostering a sense of community and promoting the values
espoused in the parish Vision Statement are of prime importance. The
ability to draw people together is an integral part of a successful parish
community, and is therefore a primary focus for the Social Committee.
The Social Committee plays two major roles within the parish:
 |
to organise, in consultation with the
Parish Priest, social events for members of the parish throughout the
year, and
|
 |
to take on and promote the ministry of
welcoming all members of the parish community.

Details of coming social events
The Social Committee arranges parish social functions, as
well as helping other parish groups with catering for morning teas and
suppers. It is assisted in these tasks by many parishioners who are not
members of the Social Committee.
At the October meeting, the programme of social functions for the following
year is decided. There are usually six parish social events each year. After
each function, a review is conducted and records are kept to help with the
planning of future functions.
The Social Committee would welcome new members and helpers, as well as new
ideas and suggestions from parishioners
