Sharing an Insight

Ah, now I see! Have you ever had the satisfaction of understanding something clearly? You read about it. A friend explained it to you. You thought about it. Then one day it suddenly became clear. Ah, now I see!

Such an understanding could be in the mechanical side of your life: how the car engine works. It could be electronic: how the TV works. Or it could be in the religious area of your life.

Let me share an insight with you. For years I believed that God loved me and showed his love through my parents, my family, my neighbour. I enjoyed the warmth and love of friends at school. But only to lose them when I move to another town to work. The loneliness was very deep. Slowly I made new friends. These I lost again when I come to Australia. Here it was easier to make new friends. Because I fell in with a group of men who shared with me the same goal from the start.

It was only after years of study and prayer that one day I gained a new, a clearer, a deeper understanding. This God who made me and loved me was also my friend!

All along he was showing his friendship for me" now through one neighbour, now through another. Each one showed me one side, one view, of him who is my true and everlasting friend.

It took me a long time to understand, didn’t it Lord?
