March 2000
Hannah Grace was born on March 6 (see her birth story). We stayed in hospital till the following Saturday and Hannah settled into the family very happily. Weekdays are very busy with school and activities for Thomas and Ebony - I find myself looking forward to weekends just so we can stay home and not get Hannah in and out of the car so much!

April 2000
Hannah is a joy! She feeds really well now and is very content. Ebony and Thomas both love to help out with her baths and nappy changes, although a pooey nappy has them running in the opposite direction!

May 2000
Hannah is doing beautifully! I'm pleased to say she's sleeping through the night - my only baby to ever do that! We've changed to cloth nappies which is definitely cheaper and there's nothing like a line of white fluffy nappies drying in the sun!
She's still breastfeeding really well and loves smiling!! She has a gorgeous smile! She also goos and coos which are wonderful sounds!

May 25, 2000
Hannah is 11.5 weeks old now and rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time today! She seemed very pleased with herself!

June 9 2000
Hannah is still sleeping through the night which is just wonderful! She's such a happy girl!
Hannah loves her "Sesame Street Play Gym". She's started grabbing onto the different toys and has a huge smile when we squeeze the squeaky ones.

June 24, 2000
Hannah is 15.5 weeks old now and has just returned from her first holiday! We went to Darwin which was a 3 hour plane trip there and a bit longer on the way home due to a stop-over in Alice Springs! I had a lot of worrying beforehand about what she'd be like on the plane, but I couldn't believe my luck! She was an angel. Hardly made a sound - just slept, ate or smiled the whole way there and back! John and Zoe, our friends in Darwin, were happy to meet her for the first time and the weather in Darwin was very warm! It was great to see Hannah in summer clothes - all that lovely baby skin showing!
Hannah is doing lots of rolling and strains against her car seat straps, trying to pull herself up further. Looks like we may have to reverse her car seat already!

July 7, 2000
Hannah is 17.5 weeks old already and bravely endured her second set of injections the other day. Breastfeeding is going really well, although she tends to be a bit of an up-chucker!! You have to be very cautious handling her after a feed, especially if you happen to have your 'Sunday Best' on!!
We've faced her car seat forward now which has made her very happy. She plays with her 'Pooh & Friends' toy that hangs from the hand grip above her door. She explores a lot more with her fingers now.

August 1, 2000
Hannah is 21 weeks old now. The time has just flown!
Hannah's nickname is "Happy Hannah". She is generally very calm and smiling. She loves to look around at everything and her face lights up when she has company.
We gave her some rice cereal last week and she swallowed some of it (I think) - she wore quite a bit! She loves to sit up and can get quite stroppy if she's just laying on the floor. I think she'll be a lot happier once she's on the move herself.

August 9, 2000
Hannah turned 5 months old on the 6th.
She hasn't been so keen on the rice cereal, so I tried her on some Apple and Oatmeal which has been very popular! She's like a baby bird opening her mouth when the spoon approaches! Cute as cute!!

August 20, 2000
Our gorgeous girl is 24 weeks old tomorrow! She has a gleam of white tooth in her dribbly big smile now. Those rosy cheeks she's had lately have been a good indicator of all the hard work she was putting in to get that tooth out!

September 2, 2000
I can't believe our Hannah is almost 6 months old!! This is her first Spring - we'll soon be able to free her of all that winter clothing and see some of her gorgeous skin!!
Her second tooth has made an appearance - it's dangerous to have her suck on your fingers now....those teeth are sharp!
Hannah is 'scooting' around the floor now. She gets up on her hands and knees for a second - won't be long before she's really on the move!
She's recovering from a bout of bronchitis. Had to have antibiotics after developing a gurgly cough. It didn't knock her too badly though.

September 25, 2000
Hannah is 29 weeks old today and is quite a character. She gets up on her hands and knees and sways backwards and forwards. She has started copying the kids lately with her hands too which delights Thomas and Ebony!
Her teeth are very noticeable now and she enjoys a chew on a teething rusk. Hannah enjoys her solids, her favorite seems to be apples.

October 6, 2000
She's 7 months old today! What a big girl she is now! Loves to chat and uses all sorts of funny facial expressions. She still hasn't worked out how to move forward on her hands and knees but she still gets around with no trouble! She has been up on her hands and feet lately which is a funny sight!
Hannah has a definite sleep routine, which her brother and sister never seemed to latch on to when they were her age. She prefers her cot to sleep in with her pull-down musical bear playing as she drops off.

October 27, 2000
Hannah is almost 8 months now and we weighed her this week. She is 9 kilos, approx. 19 lbs! What a big girl she has become!
She's crawling now. There's no stopping her at all. She has a few favorite haunts preferring those that have books, tablecloths and power points!
Hannah loves her 'kids' - Thomas and Ebony. She gets very excited at school pick-up time when I say "Let's go and get the kids!"

November 11, 2000
Hannah has turned 8 months and has changed a lot! She crawls from one end of the house to the other, looking for mischief. She also stands in her cot and against the kids' chairs. She likes getting up on her hands and feet, sticking her bum in the air!
Hannah's top teeth are on their way down, one of them has broken through. It's a dangerous place to put your fingers now!
She's eating lots of solids and looks like she'll soon be snatching the spoon for herself!

December 13, 2000
What a difference a month makes! Hannah is 9 months old now and is so busy! She's cruising the furniture now and has stood a few times on her own without holding on.
She's so cheeky and loveable! Loves to click her tongue and blow raspberries and adores everybody. Although lately she's become quite clingy with me! Doesn't like to let me out of her sight!
We haven't taken her for a Santa visit yet, but we will soon! Let you know how she goes!

Christmas Eve 2000
Only one more sleep!! Hannah has been the subject of a few photos lately. We had the kids' photos taken last week and they turned out so well! I'll have to scan them when I get the chance. And yesterday, we had Santa photos taken. Hannah was fine for about 3 seconds and then her little face wrinkled up ready for a howl, but I caught her attention and she settled again. She did enjoy the gold stars that were hanging from the ceiling above Santa, couldn't take her eyes off them.
So tomorrow will be Hannah's first Christmas - I'm sure she'll be spoilt!!
