Aims of the Australian and New Zealand Masonic Research Council

 1) To promote Masonic research and education within Freemasonry on an inter-jurisdictional basis.

 2) To act as a liaison body between its affiliated Masonic research lodges and chapters.

 3) To organise any research lodge conference which its affiliates may sanction.

 4) To organise and coordinate any national tour by a Masonic speaker as its affiliates may require.

 5) To publish the proceedings of its conferences, and any Masonic research publication its committee may approve.

 Membership of ANZMRC

Membership is open to any regular research lodge, research chapter or research body warranted or sanctioned by a recognised Grand Lodge, Grand Chapter or Grand body within Australia or New Zealand, hereinafter referred to as affiliates, with the right to exercise a vote. What constitutes a body engaged in Masonic research shall be determined by the ANZMRC Committee.

The committee may admit research lodges or chapters outside Australia and New Zealand to associate (non-voting) membership on such terms as it may resolve, hereinafter referred to as associates. It may also admit other regular lodges, chapters or Masonic bodies, not engaged in Masonic research, to associate membership, whether Australian or New Zealand or foreign.

Corresponding (non-voting) membership is available to individual Masons and entitles them to receive the quarterly ANZMRC publication Harashim.

Please contact the Secretary for further information. (address on front page of site)

 Meetings of ANZMRC

The council shall convene conferences of affiliates and associates every two years (or at no greater interval than three years).

At each such conference, Masonic research papers are presented, designated Kellerman Lectures. The authors of such papers who deliver them at the conference are designated Kellerman Lecturers, on the basis of one lecturer per Masonic jurisdiction. The process of selection within that jurisdiction shall be the responsibility of the affiliate or affiliates within that jurisdiction.

Details of past Conferences and Kellerman Lectures may be seen on another page of this web site.

 ANZMRC Lecture Tours

As well as holding Biennial Conferences, the Council organizes International Lecture tours, at intervals, of distinguished overseas Masonic researchers/speakers. To date, successful tours have been organized for WBro. John Hamill, WBro. Cyril Batham, VWBro. Rev. Neville Cryer, RWBro. Wallace McLeod and WBro.Yasha Beresiner. The next such tour, by WBro. David Gray, is to take place in 2002.

 ANZMRC Publications

To date ANZMRC has published proceedings of its biennial conferences, and books containing copies of lectures and presentations by international touring Masonic lecturers.  ANZMRC also publishes a quarterly newsletter entitled Harashim, which is available to members and on subscription to individuals.  Please contact the Secretary for further information about any ANZMRC publication.  His address is given on front page of this site.
