The GenX2 Supercharger kit by ls1edit.com.au is the latest release in a series of highly engineered and budget concious supercharger products developed solely by the ls1edit.com.au engineering team. It comes as a complete bolt on package including every single nut, bolt, and washer required to turn your LS1 powered Commodore into a 380kw tyre smoking beast. Using a specially re-engineered Vortech centrifugal supercharger, GenX2 delivers its power by supplying 7psi of boost pressure, and matching or surpassing the power outputs of heavily internally modified stroked and race style modified LS1 engines. GenX2 supplies this power on a standard untouched LS1 engine, and has also been tested to comply with ADR 3700 and ADR2800 emission and noise laws. |

All GenX2 Supercharger kits utilise a modified Vortech V2-SQ supercharger, capable of supplying well over 450kw of airflow. Using the very latest compressor aerodynamics and design techniques, the Vortech V2-SQ is extremely efficient, meaning that it doesnt heat the air as much as other superchargers when generating its boost pressure. The result is that intercooling at the chosen 7psi boost level is really not required. The 'SQ' label in the V2-SQ name indicates that this version supercharger comes standard with new 'Super Quiet' operation. Gone are the days when superchargers sounded like chaff cutters. Instead there is only a faintly audible, and pleasureable note that can be heard over other general engine noise. It really is the ultimate stealth installation. |

GenX2 delivers instant grunt from the moment the throttle is pressed, but builds its boost progressively through the rev range, peaking at 7psi of boost pressure at 6000rpm. Characteristically there is 5psi available at 4000rpm, indicating that even in the middle of the torque band, the GenX2 equipped engine flows 34% more air than it did previously. This is why both the horsepower and torque gains from a GenX2 engine are so massive. |

Pictured on the left is the 'compressor map' for the GenX2 Vortech Supercharger. This is the key to understanding just how well matched to the LS1 engine the GenX2 really is. Notice the red X on the compressor map, this is where the GenX2 spends most of its time operating, in the highest efficiency area of the compressors design, which happens to be a remarkably efficient 72%. No other type of supercharger currently on offer for the LS1 can even begin to match the efficiency of the GenX2. In laymans terms this means that the boost pressure that the GenX2 supplies is extremely cool for the amount of compression it has received, indicating that the performance of the GenX2 is virtually unmatched by any other type of commercially available supercharger. Technical buffs will already realise from this compressor map that GenX2 matches the efficiency of current turbocharging technology. |

To get best performance from your GenX2 supercharger kit it is recommended that a fuel system upgrade is carried out. Additional pumps and fuel pressure regulators are not required, but the standard injectors found in the LS1 will be out of delivery at the very top end of the rev range. Our suggestion is to purchase a set of straight fit VT V6 supercharged injectors and install them in the factory rail (its a 20 minute job). They are a much higher flowing injector than the stock items, and hence will support more total horsepower. Thats not to say you cant use stock injectors with the GenX2, its just that a far more conservative state of tune will need to be implemented to match the leaner (but not critically lean) air fuel ratios. Your choice, but the injector upgrade is strongly recommended. |

One of the key design features of the GenX2 supercharger kit is ease of installation. Being a sealed sueprcharger unit, driven off the power steering pulley, the entire GenX2 system can be fully installed on the vehicle in one working day. Little if anything needs to be removed from the vehicle to fit the GenX2 system. The radiator, engine, even the rocker covers all stay in place. Not only then do you save money on the installation cost of the supercharger kit, but it also makes GenX2 very easy to remove when you upgrade to a different model LS1. No holes are cut in the body to facilitate fitment, so returning the vehicle back to 100% original appearance is entirely possible. |

The GenX2 supercharger system can be successfully tuned using LS1EDIT by any one of our authorised fitting centres around the nation (email us for details). Should you be in a remote area, or would like us to supply a base tuned LS1 computer to match the GenX2 kit then we are able to supply a mail order 'Mafless' supercharger programming service for an additional $500 over the price of the basic kit. We strongly recommend though that any tuning carried out on a GenX2 system be checked thoroughly on the dyno for correct air fuel ratio and ignition timing settings. | For those looking for an extra edge, then performance of the GenX2 kit can be considerably improved using our Pro Series water injection kit. Carefully calibrated over many hours of both dynamometer and road testing our water injection kit differs from many others by using an injection nozzle formulated specifically for the job of injecting water into the engine. To get best results from the addition of our water injection system the engine management computer will need to be remapped accordingly. For a Pro Series water injection kit add $400 to the price of the basic kit. | |

We often get asked what kind of exhaust system matches our GenX2 system the best, and our answer is always the same. Use aftermarket headers, go for a 1.75 inch primary pipe size, using a 4 into 1 header design, and then run a minimum of a 2.5 inch low restriction twin system. 380kw is a serious amount of power, and requires a serious duty exhaust system. Dont panic though if you have stock or interference style headers or a 2.25 inch exhaust system. GenX2 will still work fine with this combination, but power will be restricted. How much? It really depends how good or bad your exhaust system is. We can supply exhaust systems to match the GenX2 kit from $900. |

| The most important thing about the GenX2 kit is the power and the torque. It is there in masses, with a properly installed and tuned GenX2 being able to eclipse 300rwkw, and endow the car with genuine 11 second quarter mile potential. All of which is achieved with both stock standard idle quality, driveability, and most importantly emissions. There really is no comparison. |
