NATURE TRAIL
(Leaflet available)

The trail takes approximately 45 minutes and starts at the SW corner of Forrest Reserve.  The halfway point can be found just north of Paxlease House.  It finishes at Alec's Gate.  It is suitable for all ages.  Trail Leaflets available in boxes at the start of the trail.  A donation of 20 cents a leaflet is appreciated, or return trail sheet to box at end of trail.

OWLS TRAIL, FOR 5 - 10 YEAR OLDS

  • Trail starts behind Paxlease House.  Marked by red toadstool symbols.  Allow approximately one hour.

TREE TRAIL

  • Tree Trail leaflet is now available. 22 trees are depicted; some of historical interest including trees planted by the original owners, others include the rare quandong and spectacular river red gums and blue gums. A map is provided and groups and individuals self guide themselves around the property, it is a good way to explore Douglas Scrub.

EXPLORE DOUGLAS SCRUB

  • This trail sheet gives an overview of the property.  Suitable for older visitors wanting a leisurely walk taking in key areas of the property.

ORIENTEERING COURSE
(Leaflet available)

  • There are 25 marked pointers.  Compasses are available for hire.

BOUNDARY WALK AND CERTIFICATE

  • A track around the boundary is accessible most times during the year, check with manager.  Watch for snakes in summer, rubber boots for creek crossings are good in winter.  Allow 1.5 hours, the total distance is approximately 4 km. Excellent views of surrounding vineyards are obtained from the water tank on the northern boundary. A certificate for participants may be ordered from the Douglas Scrub Shop.
