The Newfoundland Club of South Australia, Inc. (NCSA) is an affiliate club of Dogs SA (The South Australian Canine Association, Inc). The aim of the Club is to act in the best interests of the Newfoundland breed. Club activities include:

Breed Promotion
An important function of the Club is to be a resource for prospective and new puppy owners through publications such as the Club's Breed Information Booklet and Puppy Parenting Handbook. These may be obtained by contacting the Secretary, NCSA at daraprani@senet.com.au. The Breed Information Booklet is available at no cost to individuals interested in the breed. The Puppy Parenting Handbook (a 54 page comprehensive handbook for Newfoundland puppy owners) is $10 (not including postage)

NCSA representatives may also be present at events such as Animal Expos and Vets & Pets in the Park.

The Club does not give breeder referrals. Contact Dogs SA on www.dogssa.com.au or visit the Newfoundland breed page on www.dogzonline.com.au for breeder referrals.

Conformation Shows
The NCSA's inaugural Open Show was held in 1982 and Championship Show in 1983. Currently the Shows, if being held, are scheduled together in July/August.

Community Service
The Club has a Pet Therapy Officer who coordinates visits to nursing homes, day care centres and a spinal rehabilitation unit.

Social Activities
For the past decade, the Club has held an annual Beach Day, usually in April. Events include best Newf beach wear & headwear, egg & spoon race, obedience knockout, spaghetti relay, T-shirt exchange and various other activities. A barbecue lunch usually follows. Other social activities may include periodic walks in Kuitpo Forest or along the beach, grooming and obedience events and occasional information sessions with visiting Newfoundland breeders or Judges.

Merchandise
The NCSA has had a variety of Newf merchandise for many years and it is sent all over the country. New items are constantly being added to the range so keep checking this site! The sale of Newf merchandise has been a major fundraiser and subsidises a range of Club activities including welfare/research. All prices are in Australian dollars. Please email the Secretary at daraprani@senet.com.au to order and include your postcode for freight costs.

Photo Gallery
This is your Newf's chance to shine. Send your favourite photos along with a short caption or story of not more than 50 words to the Secretary. The Photo Gallery will be updated regularly so keep sending in those new shots!

If you would like your Newf to feature as The Newf of the Month - once again send in a photo and a description of the character, likes & dislikes and endearing(?) habits of your Newf (150-200 words).

For enquiries re breed information, merchandise or membership please contact the Secretary
