U3A Adelaide Inc. - Murray/Darling Study Group

Cotton - Water - River Darling - Broken Hill
Study Tour,
September 21st to 26th, 2004

Introduction & Index

After successful tours of the Murray and the Murrumbidge, the groups' thirst for knowledge turned to the Darling and the impact of cotton growing along its length from Queensland to lower New South Wales. Melody's inspired choice of Broken Hill's Outback Tours to organise our schedule ensured us welcome access to many of the major players,  both Corporate and Private, in the Broken Hill - Menindee Lakes area of the Darling.

We also made contact with the Darling River Action Group. A link to their Web Site is shown below.

The Tour Members wish to express their appreciation of the efforts of Jason, Tour Guide, Local Historian, Raconteur (and occasional stirrer) for the tremendous effort he put in to make our tour such a success.

Jason is far left in the picture.

Roger for the Study Tour Group.
